Solmitz, Caroline, Sozialfürsorgerin, nach der Emigration in die USA Mitarbeiterin an einer "Childs Guidance Clinic", und Fritz, ?jüngster Bruder von Eva Cassirer, geb. ca. 1892/93, Herausgeber des sozialdemokratischen "lübecker Volksboten", auf Grund seiner politischen Überzeugungen 1933 verhaftet. Nahm sich im Gefängnis das Leben (siehe Zeitungsartikel Sept.1933). Caroline und Fritz waren die Eltern von Gerhard, Ernst, Peter und Brigitte (die drei Jungen nannten sich in den USA Sommers; Peter Sommers spielt eine nicht unwesentliche Rolle bei der Wiedereröffnung der OSO 1945/46). 3 Couverts 1912/64 viel Familiennachrichten, ein unwesentlicher Brief von E.Geheeb an Fritz vom 23.5.32; dann erst ab ca. 1950 weitere Erzählbriefe von E.Geheeb an C.Solmitz. Ein Brief an Eva Cassirer (aus dem Nachlass von Henry C.) vom 3.3.33 über seine verzweifelte Lage, die Verhaftung von Leber (seinem ?Vorgesetzten), das Verbot des Volksboten, das Ende seines Deutschlands, für welches er im Krieg gewesen sei, und das Ende seines Engagements in der Arbeiterschaft etc. etc. "Dir strahlt das Geistige, und wenn es niemand kennt. Mir nicht. ... Was noch steht von meinem Leben, das ist das Jüdische. ..."; "Von Politik will ich nicht mehr reden, zumal man ja dem Briefgeheimnis nicht mehr trauen kann". Dann die Antwort von Eva Cassirer (ebenfalls Nachlass von H.Cassirer) aus der Odenwaldschule vom 5.3.33 über die tiefe Lüge der Zeit, über ihr Deutschland, das noch weiterlebe und letztlich wirklicher sei als das jetzt so sichtbare, über den momentanen Weltaugenblick als Ausdruck der Menschlichen Natur, die getrieben sei, nicht im Bewusstsein, d.h. nicht in Gott lebe; über Heiner mit seiner Zuversicht; über die innere Haltung, die auf die Kinder wirke; über ihre beabsichtigte Reise nach Rom. Cohn, genannt "die kleine Edith", Schülerin der OSO, geb. 7.2.1894, gest, 1981, Schwester von Gerhard Cohn und Alfred (nach Emigration in USA Corneel). Edith Cohn's Mutter ist "Muttl Cohn". 2 Kinder: 1. Renate Solmitz, verheiratet Frankenstein, geb. Aug.1923 (kinderlos), s. Couvert Frankenstein. 2. Franz Solmitz (geb. Aug. 1925, gest. Sept. 1980), eine Tochter, s.Couvert Franz Solmitz; 11 Couverts 1920/81, ca. 400 Briefe, Karten, Telegramme; die letzten 3 Couverts mit Briefen von E.S. nach dem Tode von Werner.
