| For full details of his life see his obituary written by Prim Moss - File Cohen Samuel - Cohen Alroy obituary. Alroy was educated at Sydney Grammar School and at Sydney University from where he graduated BA LLB and was admitted to the Bar in 1905. In World War I he was a Captain in the 56th Battalion of the AIF in France, and in World War II he served as a Lieut col in the Army Legal Corps. He served on the Board of the NSW Board of Jewish Education, as well being an honorary teacher, also the NSW Jewish War Memorial, the Prisoners Aid Association and Australian Friends of the Hebrew University of which he was appointed a Governor in 1949. Following this appointment he travelled to Israel annually to attend the meetings of the Board. I noticed Alroy's name in the National Database of perons who were in the services during WWII. His number was N 30142. Sefton was also listed. | ||||||||||||
