| Marion Cassirer reports: "My father was an Electrical Master, and my parents had two businesses which were destroyed on Kristall Nacht. After that they worked at the Judisches Kinderheim and when everyone there was deported, my parents had to do slave labor within Berlin. Just one day before we were scheduled to escape to Switzerland, on Oct. 2, 1942, my Father was arrested. He escaped but was caught again and was killed after spending about 3 months in Auschwitz."217 |
