| Notes for Lucy SCHOENBRUN |
Lucy Schoenbrun Szekely was David Schoenbrun's daughter and married Robert Steven Szekely. She was born on 6 June 1947 at the American Hospital in Paris and named after her grandmother Lucy Cassirer who had recently passed away. She spent her childhood in Paris and remembers Sunday brunches with Heiner's wife Marta. She went to New York for her university studies at New York University and it was there that she met her husband Robert Szekely.
She remembers well his intense accounts of his work with UNESCO, which he communicated, with a sense of vocation. Lucy went to New York for her university studies at New York University and it was there that she met her husband Robert Szekely. Lucy and Robert Szekely collaborated with David Schoenbrun on a book "The New Israelis", a portrait of a generation of Sabras born in Israel after the creation in 1948 of the state of Israel.227 |
