It notes (inter alia):442 Charles Hamor Rich was born on 26 Jun 1829 at Camberwell, Surrey, England. He was the son of John Rich and Maria Mackglew. Charles Hamor Rich was christened on 23 Jul 1830 at St Giles, Camberwell, Surrey. Charles Hamor, son of John & Maria Rich of Camberwell, gentleman, by C W Hyde, curate.
Charles Hamor Rich and Maria Mackglew arrived per Warrior arriving 28 July 1833 in Sydney. Maria Rich 26 with her husband "Charles" aged 32 and son Charles aged 3. This may be her brother in law Charles, or her husband John. He was a passenger arriving after Apr 1837 per "Captain Cook" at London, England, from Sydney. Master Rich departed Sydney 17 April 1837 per with Master Potter M'Queen & Mr Kinloch. . He received a bible from John Rich on 11 Apr 1846 at England. Charles was given a bible by his paternal grandfather John Rich which is now in the possession of Joan Grimwade. This may have been on his return to Australia.. He was a passenger arriving 20 Jan 1849 per "Emma" at Sydney, New South Wales, from Hobart Town. Master Rich & Miss Mary Rich & Master Harry Rich; Master Rich with Master Potter McQueen was reported in the "Sydney Morning Herald" on the 19th.

I give and bequeath to my wife Isabella Tempest Rich all the furniture plate linen china and other household effects (other than my gold watch and chains rings and personal trinkets) of which I may be possessed at the time of my deceased to and for her sole separate and absolute use and benefit I bequeath to my eldest son Hamor Charles Ellison Rich my gold watch and chain etc. And I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder to [trustees] that they shall [invest]..... He was listed in a directory dated from 1866 to 1867 as Rev Charles Rich 140 Waterloo Street, Sydney. In 1866 no number was given.. He was listed in a directory dated from 1868 to 1870 as Rev Charles A Rich 147 Dowling Street, Sydney. Charles was appointed a Minor Canon of St Andrew's at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, in 1869. Charles was the incumbent of S tBartholomews at Pyrmont, New South Wales, Australia, from 1869 to 1878.
