Peter Cassirer has a lovely story to recount about Vera, who was a wonderful pianist. He writes "My mother Vera had played some of Schubert's Moments musicaux on the radio and my father Georg took me to a music store to record the broadcast on those old fashion wax discs from annu dazumal. As we came home Vera was resting on her bed and Georg put on the disc in another room. As Vera heard the recording she became all awake and exclaimed: I wish I had played this as beautifully."429
